Thanks to the support of our fantastic donors, fundraisers and volunteers, we have been able to support more than 9,000 women, men and children from the west, mid-west and midlands since 2012.
As a charity, we rely on this kindness and generosity. There are so many ways below to help make a real difference. No matter what option you choose, remember that every volunteer hour offered, or euro raised will leave a positive human impact help on others in their time of need.

Choir Factor is an annual choral fundraising event in aid of the SCCUL Sanctuary. It was initiated in 2013. Each year six workplace choirs battle it out X-Factor style to win the Choir Factor trophy. There are two categories. One category is for existing choirs. The second is for new/start-up choirs. All choirs are led by experienced choral directors, who give their time free to teach their choirs in preparation for this event.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are looking at the possibility of facilitating an online event in Spring 2021. Further details to follow. If you would like to express an interest in Choir Factor 2021, please call Will on 087 3466220 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Why sing? Studies show that singing in the workplace is linked to improved wellbeing, morale and job performance.
Testimonial from Anita Mahony of GMIT Voices:
“The Choir has made such a huge difference to GMIT and it was thanks to the SCCUL Sanctuary that we were able to get it off the ground in the first place. GMIT Voices is primarily a staff wellbeing initiative. It has created a real buzz amongst the staff here. Practice has given the members something to look forward to and they are all smiling leaving it and new friendships are forming. Choir Factor is the perfect start for a choir’s career. Singing at Choir Factor was wonderful experience. We have self-belief now, as a choir, that anything is possible.”
The annual 5km wellbeing walk takes place at the Flaggy Shore, New Quay in Co. Clare every summer. If you would like to take part, please contact Will on 087 3466220 or email sanctuary@scculenterprises.

The SCCUL Sanctuary currently works with businesses both multinational and indigenous, who are willing to offer the time of their employees in selected areas as a means to support individuals or groups of disadvantaged people. Volunteers can donate their time in front-of-house, bring their own individual talents to the workshops, or give their time to develop particular features within the gardens and fenland.
If your workplace offers such a facility, please contact Will on 087 3466220 or email sanctuary@scculenterprises for further information.
If you would like to set-up a partnership between your business and the Sanctuary or just a once-off volunteering opportunity, please contact Will on 087 3466220 or email sanctuary@scculenterprises for further information.
“Thanks again for having us and for organising the lovely lunch – much needed after the hard graft! All 18 of the team had an immensely rewarding volunteer day – we were blessed with the weather, certainly made working outdoors all the more enjoyable. Many hands make light work and I know on leaving yesterday the progress that had been made was clearly visible so hopefully all that visit the Sanctuary notice the fruits of our labour.”
